Madrid, the new European luxury destination

Such as, for example, the Four Seasons, the Hardrock Hotel Madrid and the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, which opened its doors after an ambitious renovation of its iconic Belle Époque building.

The offering also includes the Evok-designed by Philippe Starck-, the JW Marriottand The Madrid Edition. Plus, of course, the boutique hotel that is set to open in the majestic Metropolis building, which will house restaurants, a private club and a spa.

Enjoying luxury hotels without having to stay in them is also a very exclusive option. Many have introduced some fine dining proposals. For its part, the Four Seasons has its splendid rooftop terrace with the acclaimed restaurant Dani Garcia, and its spa, measuring 1,450 square metres, is open to non-guests.

A new icon of luxury in Madrid has been added to the emblematic Serrano and Ortega y Gasset streets (in the Salamanca district): Galería Canalejas (on Plaza de Canalejas). An enclave with the leading fashion, accessories, and fine jewellery brands and a unique proposal, the Food Hall with restaurants of different styles and nationalities. 

Chispa Bistró, Gofio, Pabú, Sen Omakase and VelascoAbellà are some of the latest restaurants joining the Madrid haute cuisine scene. These newcomers to the ranks of highest quality restaurants join other Madrid establishments in the 2025 Michelin Guide, 29 in total.

Did you know that, according to the Guinness Book of Records, the oldest restaurant in the world is located in Madrid? Founded in 1725 and with almost three centuries of history, Botín is the deserved winner of this record, which makes it one of the most authentic dining options in Madrid. But if you want to continue exploring the culinary roots of the Spanish capital, you can follow the route proposed by the illustrated map of restaurants and taverns that have been around for over a century. 

Las Salesas, Lavapiés, Barrio de Las Letras, Chueca, Malasaña, Conde Duque, La Latina, Los Austrias... Madrid's agenda is full of great shows, with musicals as one of its major highlights. It is not in vain that the famous Gran Vía is considered to be Madrid's Broadway.  If opera is your thing, head for the Teatro Real. Located in the central Plaza de Oriente square, it is one of the temples of the international opera circuit.
